And over here is Our Lady of Perpetual Great Deals on Shoes

So today I was walking on 40th Street near Times Square and I noticed an awning that read "Garment District Synagogue", which struck me as very odd. I mean, how many places of worship are named after nearby businesses?

There's also an "Actors' Chapel" in Midtown -- I think it's on 50th Street betwen Broadway & 8th Avenue.

At the risk of ruining a good joke ...

The schmate trade has synagogues all over Manhattan. The Fur Center Synagogue is on 29th & 7th and the Millinery Center Synagogue is at 38th & 6th. I am more curious about how "smart New York" put the Eastern States Buddhist Temple onto its list of synagogues.
