The Onion folks have mucked things up before--haven't they printed the wrong byline more than once?

I'll include the link in my post for today. Thanks, editor pro tem Francis!

Well, I know in the puzzle's second week, they printed my byline on Byron Walden's crossword. If there were other errors like that, I haven't seen them (I don't pick up the print edition every week).

There were about 90 inductively mind-bending seconds there until I finally decided you weren't just being extremely formally clever and decided to check your blog.

I'm presuming that their correction this week (6/14) - where they print two puzzles - last week's clues with the correct grid finally - and a new one this week that, again, features the wrong grid (or wrong clues, whichever way you look at it), was those craaaaazy Onion editors doing what they do best - being wacky! Because if I made such an unbelievable blunder when trying to fix the first blunder, I'd certainly ascribe it to irony rather than admit I somehow managed to screw up again.

Yeah, it's kind of mysterious what happened this week...they printed the same incorrect grid they printed last week (making it three appearances in a row for that grid), but they showed me their final pdf of that page, and the correct grid was there. So something crazy is happening between the creation of the final version of the page and the printing. Hopefully someone will be able to deduce what's going on.
