Comments: Star power

You're Welcome! BTW, I got it from the blog of Alex Ross who is the music critic for the New Yorker Magazine.

You know, I was upset that the #1 song the day I was born was the disco classic "Night Fever", like anyone else born in the spring in 1978, the Year of the Bee Gees.

But then I saw the songs that were rocking the charts when my brothers hit the scene.

Those were "Love Will Keep Us Together", and "Escape (The Pina Colada Song)". But that's what they get being born in the years of Elton John and Donna Summer, respectively.

I've always liked that "Hello I Love You" was #1 on the day I was born. A decent song, and also an apt title for a birth.

I'm "December 1963 (Oh What A Night)" by The Four Seasons." Does that mean I was supposed to be born 13 years earlier? Is that a suggestion?

My brother is "I Will Survive." Heh.

What did I do wrong to get stuck with "My Love" by Wings? (Does it make it better to know that I dodged the bullet of being born under "Frankenstein" by a day?) Whereas my wife is blessed to be a "Killing Me Softly With His Song" baby.

I'm not sure what it means that I was born under "I Am Woman" by Helen Reddy. I wish I knew more than 12 words of it, but I don't wish hard enough to actually look them up.

I'm "I Want To Hold Your Hand", which The Beatles performed on the Ed Sullivan show the night I was born. They had six different chart-toppers that year (and The Supremes three).

Oh fer cryin' out loud ... I get stuck with "If You Wanna Be Happy" by Jimmy Soul? If I was born three days later I coulda had Lesley Gore's "It's My Party"!

> born under "Frankenstein"

That would make an excellent blog title.
