Oh, is that tonight? Maybe I should have rehearsed

Hey! I'm playing a short concert set tonight! Yes, I know it is short notice, but I only just now found out in which part of the evening I'll be on (somewhere between 7:40 and 8:20, I'm told). It's free, it's and features many people besides me who are worth your entertainment no-dollars; see the poster below for details. (Obligatory Holy Tango tie-in: I will be performing "Up on Islam".)

The notice is a bit short for me, but break a leg!

ummmm... I miss your comics.

Yeah, I miss your comics too. :( Please resolve to do 6 things in the New Year. Couldja, huh? We're beggin'!

Nonetheless, that's a great ambi-picture -- or whatever you call it -- the "Tete de mori" as far as I can tell. Lunch Boy, who is the artist who designed this drawing that can be seen as both death and two folks sliding down on a toboggan? It is both a spooky pic and a holiday wonderland. Is this a modern artist, or one of our classic artists from yesteryear? (I'm guessing yesteryear, alas.) Though we do have excellent artists these days as well.

Hey you stole my name...Heaney Land? Are your people from Galway? I grew up in Boston and the family came from Sligo and Galway. I went to Galway in 1965 and was amazed at so many Heaneys...the butcher the baker and of course the Publican. Good luck with your blog.
