When traveling abroad, check to make sure your destination exists

Speaking of hoaxes and their kin, Maelstrom discovered what looks to be a very entertaining fake travel guide to the nonexistent country of Molvania. I wonder if that's anywhere near Cockaignistan, home of the ambiguously accented rock band, Dirty Lenin.

In fact, Dirty Lenin might be facing some competition for "most popular musical act from a fictional Eastern European country" from Spatzal! and the Molvanian Idol. At least they know where to go for advice if this turns out to be a problem.

Glad you liked the link. I managed to track down an article in The Guardian which seems to have some excerpts not on the website:

I'm curious if their other book titles will get published, and when I can see a US printing.

It's not so outrageously priced if you order it from amazon.co.uk.

(That's right, I get a piece of it if you buy the book through that link. Give the sweet sweet commissions to me. I've shilled for the entertainment industry long enough with no compensation.)
